
David Bolzonella has been working at the University of Verona since 2005, where he is Professor of Chemical Engineering and Director of the Department of Biotechnology. He was a visiting scholar at the University of California (Irvine), USA, and the University of Southampton, UK. His main research activities focus on anaerobic fermentation processes for the production of volatile fatty acids, lactic acid, hydrogen, and methane, as well as the production of single-cell proteins, PHA, wastewater treatment, and nutrients recovery from concentrated effluents. He is the author of some 150 papers, cited approximately 14,000 times, with an h-index of 61 (Google Scholar). He is listed among the World Top 2% Scientists and the Top Italian Scientists in the fields of Environmental Engineering and Energy.
